Hello u,

Sorry, we've abandon you again. So often, you return with the hope that we update, but you see nothing. It makes you sad no?
Well you see the reason behind this whole deal of no updates, simply, is not because we are busy with our lives. BUT we are plain lazy. It's so fun to give out cookies and make people happy, and then, we forget to tell the world how did that.

Sorry, we really are quite hopeless cases.

So, Lex decided to recruit someone who's high on life and loves to take photo. Meet our new agent #2947 (okay, that number's a lie).... ALBERT!

anyhoo, he's been sweet and nice, had some cookies for himself, and passed the leftovers to the others. (Err.. I think we gave him a new batch of cookies)

Seriously, I run out of ideas what to put as blog titles. Just very hard. Hmmph. (Lex, can't we just name it something like post number 26?) *watches out for the shoe*

Anyhow, in the past month, we visited an orphanage and also home for mentally challenged people. I'm sure you read the previous post that we were requested to help out by AMBP. Thank you, you kind folks. It really made our day (not much of me, I'm in New York!)

Also, Lex met rockstars, Estranged and gave them 'rock' cookies. I remember these cookies actually hit Melvin's left eye, once, long time ago. I hope those guys survived hehe.We haven't really went out passing a cookie of joy or two. But next month, we'll be giving out cookies at Moonshine. It's a music project hosted by Reza Salled (apparently, he is the Msian John Mayer or something like that). So, go get some cookies and donate some money that'll benefit an orphanage in KL. I'm not sure which orphanage though but we'll update (yes, hit me with a stick for not doing that!)

sorry lahh, didn't update the whole of last month. Anyhoo.. HAPPY FEBRUARY. I hate february cause *ahem* someone's bday lah... lol

But anyhoo, since we've been so lazy to distribute cookies. Finally someone forced us to hit the kitchen again to do what we TRY to do best - making people happy. We'll be at Handicap and Mentally Retarded Children Centre Selangor (somewhere in Ampang) giving out cookies to these children. So, if you very very hardworking (just like us. meh) you can come by too.

Sorry, Joon's been too busy finishing up exams meanwhile I couldnt find time to bake cookies. Sigh, we're totally dead eversince end of 2006. I was just browsing through the sea of photos and noticed I've been an arse for not uploading and posting on the happy people who've received our cookies. Geez.

Well, good news is we'll be up and running as usual SOON. This time I promise soon k. Basically, I'm very much on my own right now, any help would be very much appreciated *wink wink*

Hey there,
We are sooooooo sorry about hiatus. Everyone's been busy, but that shouldn't be a reason for us to not update and pass out cookies =) Once we are in it, we are in it for good!

Hope you had a good christmas. New Year is already approaching within days and what a hell of a year it's been. Pope died, King of Funk, James Brown died, ex-president of Iraq was sentenced to death, Dr. M meets Soros, all kinds of shit happens in the government, the world's green house effect is STILL increasing, Tom Cruise's baby was finally revealed!, a movie with batman and wolverine was finally made (lol), myTeam lost to Msia, and someone homeless died.

Whatever that have had happened was either celebrated or regreted but what we can do is definitely make the most out of it by learning. So this coming new year, let's hope for the best and expect the worst. Life is crazy after all.

Toast to whole new year and do something to make someone happy =)

3 in 1 cookies

This one turned out so good.. there's still one more batch in the oven! I saw this recipe on Su Yin's blog a couple days a blog, and it managed to jumpstart my cookie craving. hehe...

The recipe:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
3/4 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp baking pwd
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup rolled (instant) oats
1/2 cup raisins roughly diced
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I used walnuts) Use pecans/macadamias if you like.

Beat butter and sugars till creamy and fluffy. Add in vanilla and egg. Fold in all other ingredients and mix well with a wooden spoon to combine. Drop rounded teaspoons-ful of cookie dough onto cookie sheets/parchment paper 1-2 inches apart and bake in preheated 180 degree oven for 7-8 minutes or until cookie is golden and crisp around the corners. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a cookie rack.

Oh damn, the smell is so good =)

You should try it really... If you don't like small cookies, you can try to make big cookies (size of a full tablespoon) and am sure it would be chunky. Yummy!
I noticed that Joon is doing tad bit ok job on the blog. Don't worry I shall tempt him with cookies for updates hehe...

Hi all,
Joon here. This would be my first post with Project: Have a cookie!
From now on, I'd be updating the blog. Lex will obviously be baking and Dylan, the sponsor man!

Sorry for the lack of updates. We having a lil' problem due to someone's comp crashing and thus losing the pics etc.
On a brighter note, we have hit 50 people - thanks to Lex. I'm yet to do my part hehehe...
Hopefully, by the end of this week all the pics will be compiled for you to see the other 25 people which made us to hit a big 50! =)

By the way, we are open to orders for Christmas events (e.g. carols and such). Drop us a comment or email. Will be happy to receive your requests.

Today, I had the honours to meet someone important. He was one of the constructor of the "Rukun Negara" and we had an interview with him; something for our Msian Studies' assignment. So, how can I miss the chance of giving out cookies?! ehehehe...

Making people happy - that's our err.. motto?

Hey there, good holiday? I hope so.. mine's tad bit boring...

Anyhoo...

A few people asked me what's the whole purpose of this 'aimless' project or what so ever it is?

Well to answer you, here's a piece of what Ms.June said on her blog (thanks for the post!):

"Today, I’ve been hit by Project: Have A Cookie! This project, I believe is about a group of people just wanting to brighten up other people’s day. No matter if you are sad, depressed, super emo or you just broke up with your boyfriend, chocolate chip cookies are one of the best way to cure our sadness. When we were kids, we always had cookies until our moms told us that we’ve had enough. Now everyone’s so worked up and busy, there is barely time spent on relaxing and enjoying life. So, Project: Have A Cookie! wants you to relive your childhood memories and bring you joy even if it will only last for 5 minutes."

Basically, that's it :). As childish as it sounds, I used to have ideas in my head that if there was one thing I could do for the world, it would be making people happy. Perhaps my child like faith is gonna be true from this project. I don't know. What say you?

Someone also suggested that I should start selling ths cookies and contribute the cash to some charity home... (yeah, at one point I thought giving out free cookies was quite weird...)

Everyone's favourite cookie!

OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE!

I was really in the mood to bake somemore, so I made oatmeal cookies. It's something healthy as well. Here's the low down:
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups oats (rolled or "quick," but not "instant")
2 cups chocolate chips (about 12-oz.)

Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and the sugars until mixture is light in color. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the milk and the vanilla extract.In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda,baking powder and salt. Either by hand or with the mixer on low speed, gradually beat the flour in to the sugar mixture until just incorporated.Stir in the oats and chocolate chips by hand.Drop 1-inch balls of dough onto the cookie sheet, placing about 1 1/2 inches apart so they have room to spread. Bake at 350F for 10-13 minutes, until golden brown at the edges and light golden at the center.Cool on baking sheet for at least 1-2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

I didn't want the cookies to be too sweet, I replaced the sugar to brown sugar.

Tomorrow, more ppl are gonna get my cookies! This time, they'll get one chocolate chip cookie and one oatmeal cookie... Will post more tomorrow.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Like I said yesterday, I really wanted to bake chocolate chip cookies and yes sir, I did!

Here's the recipe:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup corn oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp salt
4 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg + oil+ milk. Fold in dry ingredients with a wooden spoon. Chocolate chips last. Spoon teaspoons full of batter onto a baking sheet and bake in 190 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops brown.
Leave to cool for 10 to 20 mins. Best served with cold milk of course!

And hopefully, over the weekend I'll have the time to experiment 'white chocolate chip-chocolate cookies' (yeah, a whole mouthful of it). I'm in the mood to exercise my right arm muscles as well. Lame. Ahhh.. how I wish I had the wonders of technology.. but I guess nothing compares to good ol' way of doing somethings. Honestly, I find baking a therapy. Somehow, there's an aftermath satisfaction I get. Oh yesh, the joy of spreading the cheer to others too.

I managed to persuade a few 'kind' souls into the project to be my agent (Brandon - my rocker friend and Syaf) , designer for this blog (check out the most bitchiest and smartass 16 year old I've ever known, APhEaK Seng aka Jonathan) and my main sponsor/partner-in-crime, Dylan. Currently, I've been passing out cookies to my friends/collegemates and such. I love to meet up all you bloggers out there, too!

Oopss... the secret's out!

No biggie really.. I wanted to publish the recipe to make the chocolate cookies. Actually I kinda stole the recipe for Su Yin anyway :P Oh, btw, check out her site... she's an amazing cook... she bakes, cooks, and does wonders but the sad part is, she's in Australia :(

Anyhoo, here's the lowdown:

Ingredients:
130g dark chocolate melted
1 cup plain flour sifted
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp bicarb of soda
1 pinch salt
1 egg
90g butter
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence

Directions:
Beat sugar and butter till creamed and well combined. Drop in the egg and vanilla essence. Continue to beat on high till fluffy and pale. Sift in dry ingredients and melted chocolate. Mix the dough with a wooden spoon till ingredients are incorporated - you'll need a fairly strong arm for this.Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and bake in preheated 190 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until the corner of the cookie are cracked.(this will depend on the size of you cookie as well). The centers will still be moist. Remove them from the oven and leave to cool for 10-15 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.

The only thing I've changed is I use self raising flour... and subsitute the melted chocolate for chocolate chips and also almond nuts!

The results:

Best served with cold milk :)

Project: Have a cookie!

Hey there... I'm Lex and project: have a cookie came up while me and my friend were munching off cookies that I made a while ago. It brought back childhood memories when chocolate cookies were the bomb! Getting cookies from our moms was like Christmas because it was quite rare for us to have cookies... Yes, too much chocolate is not that good *wink wink* or at least that's what our mommies told us!

Basically, we just wanted to relive those special times when we were kids by spreading the happiness around us. This is something random I read somewhere: An average adults laughs less than 10 times in a day than a kid who laughs more than 50 times a day. So, what happened to the "laughter is the best medicine"?

Don't kill the child in us cause all of us deserve to be happy even just for 5 minutes of munching cookies. Well, when I was a kid, we loved our cookies so much so that we nibbled on it sooooooooooooo slow and enjoyed every bite of it. A joy that couldn't be explained.

So, what's the plan again?
What happens is one day in a week, 12 lucky/not-so-happy/bday/(whatever else you think you can put in here) people will get a cookie from me and some of my 'chosen' ones :) And, yesh, the rumours true that we are gonna take your picture!!! Bwahahaha... and we'll post it on this blog site. Basically, we just want to make your day lah... Don't worry we won't come after you like maniacs. hehehe...
